When we become disconnected from ourselves we forget who we are.
Being disconnected from ourselves is one of our greatest disconnectors and often we are so busy and on autopilot that we don’t even notice we’ve lost the connection with ourselves.
We become disconnected from our feelings, our instinct and our true thoughts. We become so used to it that we continue to distract ourselves and the disconnection often increases.
Beneath all of this we are desperate to be seen, heard and in need of some simple and basic kindness
3 simple techniques to connect back into yourself:
- Know you matter and accept you have disconnected with yourself
- Give yourself time and space alone – a short meditation, reflection time or just journal your feelings
- Engage in activities where you are comfortable and at ease. Read a book, take a bath, have a walk, watch TV, be with others.
- What techniques could you try to get better connected with yourself?
