How do you achieve the role of senior VP in Pharma as a woman?
Jenny Rossiter – Social Isolation | A Survival Guide
In times of uncertainty and fear, our limbic system kicks in and it’s more difficult than ever to make sense of things.
Things become even more confusing and our brains tighten and we lose direct access to our executive functioning in our brains, the place where we make our best decisions, get our ideas from and solve the most difficult problems.
3 techniques that cut through the confusion
- Accept and admit you are confused as this allows the brain to settle and more likely to think about things logically rather than fighting with the fact
- Over-communicate, widely, frequently and strongly when we are confused we need clarity and being communicated to clearly gives us a sense of certainty (even if it’s about the fact there is none!)
- Sensemaking together – This is a great strategy to work things out with others rather than taking on all the responsibility for ourselves.
