Whether you are self-isolating or social distancing, being disconnected from each other is hard. We are social animals and we need each other. Even more so when we are in times of uncertainty and adversity.
In this series of vlogs, Jenny talks about the real feelings we might be experiencing and provides simple and practical techniques to help us manage ourselves and our relationships through turbulent times.
Jenny Rossiter – The Power of Encouragement
When we’re low, anxious or stressed, finding courage in ourselves is hard. It is in these times that we need encouragement from others the most. The word encourage means “To give hope, support or the confidence to do something” The verb is to make someone more likely to do something, or to make something more likely to happen:
When we lack confidence in ourselves it is a gift we can receive from someone else. It might be a simple, statement or question. It doesn’t matter what it is, you know when you get it as you feel you’ve got something that gives you the hope, support or confidence to take that next step.
When we are anxious, low or lack confidence encouragement is the very gift that we need to help us move forward. Who will you encourage today or who will you pick up the phone to that might encourage you?
