The Big 6 – My Leadership Journey
In 2009 I founded Feel Good Leadership Ltd, with a mission to bring humanity into business. Over the last 13 years, I’ve worked with the most incredible people, delivering gold-standard leadership development programmes, and supporting senior leaders resolve complex workplace issues for multinational organisations.
Along with 35 years of studying human behaviour, I have a degree in Clinical Nursing and over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. From clinical psychiatry to mediation and conflict resolution, my experience allows me to draw parallels between issues raised in the psychiatric wards and those on the corporate battleground.
My passion for weaving the real human experience with practical, science-based techniques is at the heart of all my work.
In my mid-40s, I encountered a series of pinch points familiar to many women. Divorce, the stress of being a business owner and looking after elderly parents coincided with my peri-menopause. At the age of 51, following a period of burnout, I was diagnosed with ADHD.
This revelation gave me fresh insights into the work I tackle, and I came to see neurodiversity as a positive thing that has aided, not hindered, my innovative business approach.
In my most recent book, The Freedom Bus: a Journey from Adoption to True Self, I’ve written about my personal and professional insights. This story detoxifies the ADHD label and focuses on the inherent positives of how the boundless energy, creativity and risk-taking associated with ADHD have helped make me so successful.
